Many authors and publishers who have scanned their own publications and submitted them for optical character recognition (OCR) often end up with files that are a formatting nightmare. For instance, old cookbooks can cause OCR issues due to the use of fractions in ingredient measurements and the frequent use of formatted tables for recipes. Several of our clients have found that, after our precise conversion process, three or four separate books can be combined into a single, streamlined file.
Many clients prefer to have their scanned publications converted to Microsoft Word format first. This allows them to update the text with new photos, acknowledgments, and edits. Once the changes are made, clients can send the file back to us for conversion to PDF or Kindle format, ready for sale in an ebook store.
